You do very well in these little ficlets to vividly set the scene for each timeline - right down to the finer details (like the state of one's teeth!).

Rick's heart seems a little heavier with each story.

Yes, every time, he is affected, although he isn't initially admitting that. People love to ask which time period others would like to visit, but before around 1940 or so, it would be horrible if you needed healthcare. Penicillin is a very good thing.

Yep. I run the time travel part of my universe as there being acceptable levels of interference before it all goes belly up. Edith Keeler is another instance where interference will tea things too much.

Scotty's love of his homeland is obvious in TOS and I think you captured not only his fondness for Scotland, but you paint some quite evocative pictures of the place itself. I've been on a bit of a Spock vs McCoy kick lately, in the sense that I want to see how their relationship works beyond the bluster. I think they actually had some of the most enlightening/insightful character moments on the series when they weren't plain sniping and point-scoring.

Sometimes it's nice to see them disuss their differing POVs calmly and without namecalling.

You have a nice handle on both characters here.

Oh, uninlightened Spock. He has to put himself - and his friends - through hell to find himself. He could be strangely naive at times.

Having said that, it' true he never wanted command, and with Kirk stuck on Earth, I don't think a future as the Enterprise's captain appealed to him at all. That, too, would have played a part in him choosing to leave.

He must feel so disjointed at this point, fresh from having his mind put back in his head! I kind of think of it like a room which has been emptied completely, which then has all the furniture and furnishings put back by someone who doesn't know what it looked like before. The room has all its contents, but you can't find anything because everything is out of order.

It's a very powerful scene in the movie because Kirk and the others have literally sacrificed everything on the tiny chance Spock could be saved. And no one, not even the Vulcans, I think, really knew if the transference would work.

I think you've captured the confusion of Spock's thoughts nicely.
