I really enjoyed this and can't wait to read the rest. I thought the lines in the play were particularly well written, very creative. I also enjoyed the banter between officers; it was smooth and very natural. I could easily picture them in my head.

Author's Response: Very glad to hear you are having the chance to check out this story. Admittedly it is not a quick read, shorter than my previous Star Eagle novel, it's still quite a hefty little tome (if one were foolish enough to sacrifice trees for it). I'm certainly very curious to hear any thoughts and observations you might have. I wish I could take credit for the play but that belongs to a writer infinitely more talented.

Hehe. Pumpkin pie. This made me want to watch some Enterprise, I like Lili and I think the "Lower Decks" feel was awesome. I like peeks into the lives of normal crew, and I loved the addition of an Ensign Kobayashi Maru and the poem. Awesome story, Jespah.

Author's Response:

Oh, you are so very kind. Thank you!

I love the lower decks. There are a lot more than 7 - 10 people on a starship.

Lili is all over my writing; it's hard to find a story that she's not in. I have a story where she's imprisoned and she lies to her captor, telling him that the ship is run on cilantro.

I enjoyed this very much. Normally I steer away from the TOS-era, but this makes me want to look into it more. You wrote it very well, and I enjoyed your insight into Spock's childhood. My bucket list of authors to read on this site keeps growing, I'm never going to get everything I want to read done!

Author's Response:

Thanks!  Glad you liked it, and glad it resonated on some level.  The other two chapters are now up, as promised.

Wow! I loved this narrative. It makes me want to get to know Cyste even more. Andoria has such a unique culture, I've always wanted to read more about them after watching Enterprise.

Author's Response:

Thank you RogueJawa. I too love Andoria and Andorians - and yes this was formed by seeing them in Enterprise. It took me a long time to write an Andorian strangely. But I'm very glad that I now get to explore my very own one. And I'm glad you liked reading about Cyste. There's plenty more of her story already here and there's more to come. Hope you check them out someday.

Seven was one of my favorite characters from Voyager. Admittedly I'm a bit of a Voyager fanboy, I always have been. I was a teenager when the show began and the spirit of it's exploration has always held a special place for me.

I loved this entry. It's a beautiful take on the character that bridges the periods of her life we saw before she joined the crew of Voyager.

Very powerful entry. The episode about Kodos is one of the few TOS episodes I've seen and this did a much better job of conveying the horror of this holocaust. The fact that I'm not a big TOS fan but I want to read more of this story is a testament to how well it's written.

Author's Response:

Thank you very much.  I have been working on a Tarsus novel in fits and starts for several years now, and I agree - this is something that was glossed over and not explained very well in the series - something I hope to remedy one day.

First Contact is without a doubt my favorite of the TNG movies, and I loved this little insight into how Lily and Zefram met. Great job! You really captured the spirit in which Cochrane was portrayed in the film.

Wonderful continuation. The crew seen in The Cage always intrigued me. I think I would have enjoyed that version of TOS more than the actual TOS, to some extent. I liked Pike and I liked the idea of him having a female first officer. Awesome exchange between Pike and Spock. It seemed very natural; looking forward to more!

Author's Response: Yeah, some of the Pike Enterprise characters were great, I would have especially liked to see more of the doctor and the first officer. I'm glad you liked the exchange, I enjoyed writing it. Thanks for the comment!

I think Worf's early days in Starfleet would be interesting and this story proves it. I like the exchange between Worf and Spock, and of course we all know that what Spock hopes for eventually comes to pass in the form of Nog. I'm really loving this series and the way it celebrates the Federation.

Author's Response: Yeah, when looking into this era, Worf seemed the best possible representation of how the Federation has changed. Glad you caught my not so subtle nod to Nog. So glad you're liking this!

Uncharted territory indeed, Sarine, and very nicely realized. is this the Enterprise-J that was hinted at during the Temporal Cold War episodes of Enterprise? I also have to wonder, are those Borg that have spawned off of Hugh? Very bright future you've painted here, I like it.

Author's Response: Yep, that is supposed to be the J seen in Enterprise. Are they Hugh Borg? As I said below, I will probably be coming back to this in the next few weeks so hopefully have an answer for you then! :)

Awesome tie-in, FaleBill. Is this based off of Viscous Cycle or the last episode of the Borg arc that they redid? I loved that episode, but I haven't had a chance to play Viscous Cycle yet. Either way, from what I know of Viscous Cycle, this is an awesome novelization of what's going on in-game.

Another great STO tie-in. I like that you gave us a look into another part of ESD during the Undine attack. I used to hate ground missions but I found myself wishing the ground portion on ESD was more involved. The mission made it seem like there were few survivors, your story explores that there were. Great job!

Author's Response: Well i can't speak for ESD but Ganges is a similar enough station under a slightly lighter Undine attack that they are a few survivors. Maybe after TToT I should go back and do the Survivors tales? Cheers for reading and reviewing.

Good story, Bill. You've tied up very nicely and it was a great novelization of the game world. I like how it was kind of open at the end, the Endeavour's team thought it was a one way trip but Tavik is trying to get them out.
