Finally, someone understands that cybernetics don't require you to be a Borg or a Bynar. I just wish the rest of the story was here.

Author's Response: Thanks for the comments. And yeah, cybernetics in Trek tended to mostly revolve around the Borg or the Bynar. But of course there is a whole wealth of stories that could be told in-between. There is more to Shadow Plays than what has been posted here and I do have plans to continue this.

You spelled Halcon as Helcon once in this update, otherwise excellent as usual.

Author's Response: Thanks, good catch. In fact, it turns out that I used Halcon in a number of places in the story. I hope you enjoyed Shadow Plays. While there are no immediate plans for a second Barely Human story, Mech and the CCiD team just may return at some point in the future. In the meantime you can download the Shadow Plays ebook at StarEagleAdventures.com if you like.

Interesting, my story, Ninety Nine Percent, was originally named The True Way. I have the True Way resorting to piracy to fund their operations. Looks like I will be reading more of your stuff.

Author's Response: Glad you enjoy the beginning so far... while keeping in mind that this is only a first draft with a revision on the way later to come.

I particularly like reading stories that don't take place within Starfleet. Excellent work.

Based on everything I have read about Omega, I suspect that in the late 25th. century the Federation will not only be tinkering with stable Omega particles, but will also have figured out how to fix collapsed subspace. That and possibly traded in warp drive for quantum transportation like the Iconians.

Keep writing, I reading.

Author's Response: No doubt Omega will open up a great number of research possibilities down the road, some of which are clearly already being touted by scientists in the 23rd and 24th century. But then there's that little problem with it being volatile enough to destroy half of subspace. We'll have to see if a compromise can yet be found. Thanks for reading and commenting.

War meters out death impersonally, but the damage is personal. Your story iluminates this. Annarak and his family may have had nothing to do with Cardassians attacking civilian population centers with biogenic weapons, but he and his suffered and he seeks vengeance on a target only guilty by proximity. Kind of supports the theory that the problems of peace can be harder than the problems of war.

Author's Response: Glad you noticed that aspect of the story. It's very easy forget that individuals on both sides suffered very personal losses and to assume that atrocities were committed on one side in a war, but not the other.
