As a Husband now, I remember all those Stupid things my parents did when I was 10, and I swore I would stay single so I could fight crime , or some such nonsense. This reminded me that my life with Lamya is so much more the adventure. Thanks Terri. This was a Great Piece to read and another part of your stories I have in my head.
Author's Response: I laugh now when I think of the things I swore I'd never do: drive a car (I was convinced I would be able to ride a horse everywhere I'd need to go); smoke (I did quit 13 years ago); get married...The only one I stuck to was not having kids - but that's because it really was the right choice for us. Thanks for reading it and welcome again to Ad Astra!

Dad turns out to be always right. A bit like Beth's dad then! Ha! Sweet. Typical boy response - I'm never gonna get married. Well that's what you think boyo until you meet a certain someone. I wonder who? ...

So sweet. :D I'm thinking how strangely life is arranged sometimes. When kids are little and their parents are the most fascinating people for them, the said parents find it hard to get any time to themselves. Yet later, they have to fight to spend any time with their children, who grow up and no longer consider them cool to hang out with. And then comes the adulthood. A perfect imbalance. ;-)
Thank you for sharing this. Made me smile in all the good ways. :-)
