Faraday has a point here. McGregor really is cruising for a hurting, though as clever and canny as he is, I'd never try to lay odds on who would win. Even so.

The back (and backside!) and forth was terrific. Dirty and terrific. The man is so irreverent that it's next to impossible not to be delighted by the utter flippancy he deals with... well, almost everything. But especially stuck-up superiors. Admittedly, Faraday seems a rare match to McGregor's wit, if not grit.

Oh, McGregor. You seem to conduct business in any form and in any type of clothes. Of course you’d be butt naked in bed while entertaining the call of an admiral. Once more, we see McGregor so cocksure (HA) about his actions, and the way he made sure to point out to the admiral that he believed him to be an old hack with some gold pips, was a nice touch. These two have some clear animosity between them and my goodness, it seems McGregor is hellbent on kicking the crap out of T’Hos and will do so at all costs. This isn’t surprising to me, especially considering what T’Hos did, but McGregor is so blatant about it here (in his own way).

Faraday is right that McGregor needs to be careful, especially considering Stan’s vision. I mean, McGregor, you need to worry just a bit here, right? Right? McGregor doesn’t seem to worry much about anyone except Stan, but that’s another issue all together.

I don’t know what drill he has planned for the crew or how he’s planning to flush out the mole (wait and see seems like a poor strategy) but I hope that whatever it is he has planned, he’s considered the ramifications of it.

It wouldn’t do to have people dying in drills.

' "McGregor," Faraday leaned forwards, the light in his room casting deep hooded shadows over his eyes, "whilst I've for a long time desired to have your ass - it has only ever been to see it skewered atop a very sharp and long pole and have you hung out to dry." '

Hahahaha I'm rolling on the floor laughing after reading those two going at each other.

How the hell does McGregor get away with that?

Author's Response:

Somehow, I figured you'd appreciate that Starfire. If I recall Donaghey tends to get away with murder too when it comes to certain blue skinned Admiral. I guess the two of them just have a special way with dealing with the brass. McGregor gets his job done - not in a professional way but in his own very particular way! And that probably keeps him in work ... oh and a few other little secrets as yet to be revealed.

I've never much liked Starfleet admirals. It's always nice to see one get a little cheek...in more ways than one! Well played on McGregor's part indeed.

Author's Response:

A little cheek ... hee hee ... I think Molly might steal that line to show my gratitiude for your wonderful reviews and feedback. Again, thanks for reading.
