But it wasn't wolves, it was dogs...

And I liked the interactions in this. The foreshadowing, the cincern, Jex abd Sebastian having a good moment there. But man oh man, Noah can't catch a break with a roommate like that! Maybe if he and Ronak hooked up, life would be easier on both. I could subscribe to that. XD

Well, the Stan man’s visions have a way of getting a lot of attention. Seeing McGregor dolt over Stan, make him as comfortable as possible, was kinda sweet in a weirdly-overprotective-creepy way. I know he’s not creeping Stan but man, he really was worried there. A rare sight for McGregror. The rest of the bridge crew showing up, all of them different levels of concerned, was also quite telling … Stan’s vision of death and destruction looks like a sure thing. And since he was touching Cutler it looks like Noah is gonna get the redshirt treatment if he doesn’t step up.

After the ensigns got banished to the corridor, seeing Noah freak out and heave off was pretty much right in line with his character. Sebastian’s and Jex’s words about Noah, about the type of officer he is, were quite telling. Sebastian’s right in the fact that Noah’s lack of self confidence and decisive action is a bad thing, especially in combat situations. He nearly revealed some of his own mysterious backstory here but he just managed to avoid it. Jex is as curious as I am, but Sebastian is tight lipped … oh well, but he seems to have recognized that Jex is trying to help, not hurt.

The apologizes at the end between Noah and Jex were the stuff of friends.

Ronak being the roommate was a twist but an expected one … I thought it would be him. Ronak’s distaste for Noah now has a decent reason attached to it.

Ha! I was afraid of that! Fun times to be had by all...not. :D

That was a nice moment with Templar and Jex. Bit by bit we get to see that he has some humanity under that defensiveness after all. Unfortunately, he also has some really good points about Noah. Let's hope he's just not right about the getting killed part!

Author's Response:

Only bit by bit mind. I don't want people to think he's a good guy after all! And based on his past, Templar's talking with experience, so he's seen green around the gills, freshly minted ensigns like Noah before. And he has seen the harm they can come to!

Another nice convershion of dry ship logs into a life like historical novel.

Author's Response:

Thanks for reading the story and the comment. Oh and the stars! :)

And I have to say historical novels such as Sharpe, Nathaniel Quickwater, the Jack Audbrey/Mauritian novels were a certain inspiration to this tale. Thanks millions for reading. Real life has slowed progress on the story but lots more is coming soon.

ooh, some elaboration on the vision, and a bit more insight into past visions.

Noah has to put up with Ronak? Poor kid, mind i'm curious about both he and his mother T'Vel and why they're so unconventional.

Author's Response:

Poor Noah - I am kinda making him suffer. I'll have to let up on him. As to Ronak and his mother - more will come on that matter. T'Vel has a story to be told. Just waiting for the righ moment to introduce it.

Yup, there's been other visions and they don't tend to bode well.
