Damn, is that a gamble. I'm amazed he didn't crisp himself! Or for that matter, that Harris is even alive after that! But the actual plan, on the fly, was genius. McGregor using his escape pod as a weapon, using EV as a boarding method, using Rah as an escape method... it's mad, but it's definitely clever, outside the box thinking that shows just how canny and cunning McGregor actually is. I wish half or more of the writers of Trek had managed to pull off clever of this caliber.

AH! McGregor, you sly dog, you pulled a massive overload discharge and fried your ship to kingdom come! But you saved the crew, you saved everyone, and you even managed to be a badass and save Harris (score!) but man, what a risk. McGregor’s play was a desperate one, a tough one, but one he had to make to get T’Hos off the ship and get Harris back. His rescue was top-notch, well paced and thought out. I loved that he’s still dishing out clever one liners even as things are looking bad around him. T’Hos almost managed to get away with this but, McGregor always had an ace up his sleeve.
Seeing Fang and Jex get him from space (almost immediately, well timed McGregor) was a major win moment. Blowing open the exit, taking your chances in the cold depths of space, seemed like an insane thing but this is McGregor, insanity work for him though I have no doubt Harris is going to make sure he knows how much she doesn’t appreciate being dragged into space.
Then McGregor has to deal with the messy, messy leftover effect of what happened to his ship. The fact he ruined her himself is a testament to his gall, but he did it for the greater good. But wow, what a close shave.
I wonder how mad the Commodore is gonna be.

I didn't think McGregor really would blow up the Kestrel that easily, but I couldn't figure out what he was doing in the escape pod. I didn't think he was running away, just didn't know what he WAS doing. Nice twist there!
Thanks. And yeah McGregor wouldn't part with his Kestrel that easy. That said, I don't think he'd ever let it fall into someone else's hands either. So I wouldn't put it past him - just maybe not so early into the story. Glad you liked.

Well, that's one imaginative way of trashing a ship, and an even more imaginative escape plan.
I'd call it the McGregor manoeuvre but it's only one of his many moves. The hard bit is keeping his actions and moves unpredictable and possibly a little unhinged. Thanks again for the review. Oh and the rating. Woo hoo!

I think this man needs to be held in federal prison and released on special occasions. LOL. Wow! He's a bloody hurricane and beats me how Starfleet puts up with him, but he's got style. Whew! Head-spinning read!
Yes McGregor is a bit like a hurricane - full of wind and VERY destructive! HA! Glad your liking [and reviewing too -aw love you Anna]. Yep it is a mystery as to why Starfleet continues to put up with McGregor. They must have a reason ... ::looks about suspiciously:: ... and I think it's only too important that a captain has style. After all, they do have Kirk to try and live up to!

LOL! McGregor is mad, but you gotta give him credit for having a big hairy set.
Madness is all a matter of perspective! And as to the big hairy set comment - McGregor's reply is: "Why thank you, and I know. I keep telling my tailor that!"
