Just about everything in this chapter is a win. I'm feeling damn low today, and McGregor made me laugh out loud about four different times. I love every single move he makes here, even as he's knocking back his drink, even as he's all but selling poor Noah to the enemy, even as he's displaying his big, giant brass ones on the table without so much as a hint of remorse.

God knows how many little booby traps like that he has on the Kestrel. I love Molly's reply. I always have, and I always will. And that the computer does it anyway!

Oh man, this is shaping up to be a very bad situation indeed!

McGregor gets beamed onto the bridge per T’Hos revenge plan (ah, if he isn’t so cocksure in his plan) much to the chagrin of his comrade in evil. The way the two bicker back and forth aboard the Miranda class vessel reminds me, in a way, of Khan and his second who was like “Captain, we can’t go in there, shields would be useless” and Khan’s like “Damn you!”

But, T’Hos eventually wins out, gets McGregor there and then McGregor just goes laying into Noah. This seems quite mean spirited, given the situation, but I’m partly sure McGregor was using it as a distraction-like method in order to get T’Hos to not pay attention to him, but considering he activated the self-destruct later and then just sat there … well, laying into Noah doesn’t seem like it was meant for anything really other than McGregor getting his jollies from the poor ensigns shame.

And I do feel bad for Noah, his first shift on the bridge and the ship gets taken over on his watch. Admittedly, he was distracted by Yeoman sexy (her unofficial nickname in my head now) but honestly, he’s just a noob fresh out of the Academy. Cut him a break, McGregor.

It's a shame T'Hos isn't as smart as he is angry. He broke Evil Villain 101. Never gloat about your brilliant plan to the hero. Shoot him cowardly in the back, and carry out the plan!

McGregor cracked me up in this. He's such an ass. It's somewhat excusable given he really does know what he's doing, as he just showed. Well played.

Author's Response:

Ha ha! Yes T'Hos does fall into the rather pantomime bad guy role a bit with his little speech but that almost makes him a perfect fit for McGregor. But then again his plan is rather gruesome and McGregor's reaction is a little extreme too. Though he does so with a certain flair that I hope makes it enjoyable. Thanks for reading.

haha where to start with McGregor? loving that erm alternate Vulcan salute as well as generally winding up T'Hos with his nsinuations.

Poker with high stakes by using the self destruct and somehow getting it to activate without Cartwright's agreement.

Cracking stuff.

Author's Response:

McGregor likes to break the rules - including those to do with self-destruct protocols. Yes somehow i doubt McGregor would make the best ambassador to Vulcan with his alternative. But then T'Hos could hardly expect him to be welcoming in such a situation.

Okay, that's official. I'm in love with McGregor. :D ::dies at the Vulcan improvisation:: The last time I laughed so hard was when someone suggested it shoud be 'Live long and prosper... bitch'. :D I hope Noah doesn't faint, or he'll miss all the fun. Loved Molly's response -- LMAO!! But the captain simply the best. ::huge smirk:: Terrific writing. :D

Author's Response:

Blush! Blush! And more blush! You're too kind Anna. But thank you sooooo much. McGregor just has a mouth that's liable to come out with anything so it rocks to write him. But of course, we'll see how long you love McGregor for. A bit coming up might soon change your mind.

And yeah, Molly's response is to love but then what else would one say?! LOL. Thanks again.

I think you've got something messed up with this; looks like the chapter's in here twice. Fix it! :P That being said, McGregor made me laugh out loud a few times in here, and Molly's line did too.

Author's Response:

Thanks for the catch Steff. Trust me to do something like that. Trust McGregor to bring levity into a given situation. As for Molly's response - quite polite considering, don't you think?
