Wow...and of course no one wastes time trying to get higher on the ladder. Sad to see him go, but that's life there, I guess. Chekov obviously had no love lost...kinda funny to see the different relationship between them between the two universes. Either that or Chekov was just trying to play the game and stay on Spock's good side.

And...of course...

You know, this seems to be a recurring theme I see in a lot of Mirror Universe stories and episodes, that sex is like currency and a status symbol. Marlena hit it on the head; denying sex (and giving it as well) can be a powerful weapon in this universe, and it seems so very much like the other captain's women that they know this fact very well and exploit it.

So it shouldn't come as a surprise that a) Spock would use the same weapon, and that b) Uhura would be all too willing to exploit it as well back at him. He better watch himself...

Author's Response: Right on both counts for Chekov. And Spock only told Uhura he'd make it pleasurable for her. He never mentioned sex. 1)He's not that crude, and 2)a back rub from thos ehot hands would be heaven in itself.

Now this is an interest MU power play piece, showing how mirror Spock cement his control over the ISS Enterprise. I like how you’ve given all the Mirror characters they own little bit of screen time. It would seem Uhura has a thing for Spock in any universe. Does that mean Marlena time as Captains women might soon be over?

Did like the idea that Mirror Chapel has Mirror McCoy in her pocket, thou does she have the same hidden feelings for mirror Spock as her prime trek verse version does? Nice Mirror verse snap shot.

Author's Response: In answer to your questions: No. And I haven't decided yet. Glad you liked.

The Mirror 'verse seems to be your forte. Ah, the Game of Thrones - people offing one another left and right in order to advance.  With the Tantalus field at his beck and call, I'm wondering if Spock will get rid of Morrow - take over the whole ball of wax as it were.  That would certainly help to consolidate his power among members of the crew who aren't completely on his side yet.

Of course, maybe Morrow promoted Spock out of fear - I'm sure Kirk's reputation for making his enemies disappear was widespread, so if Spock could then make Kirk disappear, *that* would have to give Morrow pause.  Make him realize he wanted Spock as an ally, not an enemy.

Interesting that Uhura showed up at Spock's quarteers to 'collect.'  Shades of the JJ 'Verse? ;-)  I hope that doesn't make Marlena mad...things could get ugly.

Author's Response: Since you are my beta for the forthcoming sequel to this story, I guess it's okay to let the cat out of the bag. Although Marlena is officially the Captain's Woman, she's not Spock's lover, but more like his "partner in crime" as the saying goes. And the thing with Uhura isn't shades of the JJverse because I wrote this before I saw that one for the first time.

Ah, the mirror universe. It just seems a day to read about it. This was a very mirror universe story, with assassination attempts galore and Sulu being the lead guy. He wasn’t very bright taking on Spock, especially after that universes Kirk got offed (or otherwise was disposed of) by Spock after the Halkan incident. But that universe’s Sulu was never quite bright and so losing him wasn’t a big thing.

Making Uhura mad was not a good thing. I had forgotten about her love affair with Sulu but Spock was a smooth talker, and managed to convince Uhura otherwise. He’s had a very lucky day indeed after surviving the assassination attempts by Sulu, convincing Uhura to stay, being made an Admiral, and then having Uhura pay him a visit to “collect.”

Oh, the mirror universe. Always so deliciously open about their desires and what they want. You captured that and the quick brutality of this universe in the short span of this story. Well done.

Author's Response: Thanks. I'm glad you enjoyed the story.

Vicious place to live, isn't it?

Author's Response: Indeed it is, but not everyone is evil.
