Lar'ragos is a very fun character in his conversation with Ixes. There's a bit of sadistic pleasure in his dropping the axe. He's actually a bit of a sick puppy - in a fun way.

Good ending sequence with Sandhurst - at this point, once he's done with treatment he should seriously consider retirement...

Broken captain, broken ship, battered personnel...

Thanks!! rbs

A very touching conclusion to see Captain Sandhurst being cared for by his crew. I didn't realize how scarred he was from his experiences with the Baron. I'm genuinely glad that he'll be getting the best help that the Federation can give him. If there is one person that can help, it's certainly Counselor Troi! Here's hoping that Ramirez won't have to follow through on her promise...

Author's Response:

Donald's been through a lot, and as a result, the outocme of his treatment and his return to duty are uncertain.  I'm right there with you on Ramirez not having to bring the hammer down on Lar'ragos.

Oh wow! You really managed to capture the trauma that has been caused to Sandhurst there. I found that to be a really emotional scene, especially considering what had happened in the conversation between Lar'ragos and Ramirez earlier on.

That scene between Pava and Ixis was a pure joy to read, as well, as the 'stone cold' bitch got what was coming to her from the real article.

Fantastically well done!

Author's Response:

I'm glad you liked it.  Writing the conversation between Lar'ragos and Ixis was rather enjoyable, in a sadistic sort of way.  As for Sandhurst, he's at the beginning of a long road to recovery.

It was good to see the overweening Ixis put in her place, and your portrayal of Sandhurst's PTSD rang very true. This has been an extremely enjoyable read thus far.

Author's Response:

Thank you for the review!  I'm glad Sandhurst's post-traumatic issues came across believably.

It strikes me, for obvious reasons, that your engineer and mine have quite so much in common. Different people, but enough of the same traits that I enjoy the similarities. Pava continues to be one wicked fucker, but now for the right reasons at least. And here's sincerely hoping Sandhurst makes it back to something better than this; while there may not always be happy endings in real life, I hope this one is.
